Bandipora: Saderkoot-Bala residents allege shortage of essentials | KNO

Bandipora, May 27 (KNO): Residents of Saderkoot-Bala village of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Wednesday complained shortage of essentials even all the positive Covid-19 patient discharged after recovery from the village. They told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the hardly received the supply of essential items such as milk, vegetables, fruit and medicines in the last few weeks. “I require cash and we cannot go to ATMs to withdraw it. There is no proper arrangement for mobile ATMs. It has been over a month since the entire locality was sealed due to Covid-19 cases. Now no new cases are emerging yet our village is marked as a red zone while many areas in the District are being de-sealed. The area should be de-contained now,” Adil Ahmad, a resident of Saderkoot-Bala told KNO on phone. He said that "some positive patients were found in our village a long time ago but all of them have now recovered. Banks are still closed in our village. We are facing a lot of problems, our Eid has not gone well either,” he added. Residents said that they are facing immense difficulties, ever since their village was declared a red zone after detected positive patients from the village but now those patients have also recovered, the situation here is the same as it was. “What sin have we committed? Why aren't banks opening here? Where would we go if we need money here,” they said. Locals have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shabaz that their problem will be solved earliest so that they will breathe a sigh of relief. An official said that "we have not yet received any complaint about irregular supplies in the village. But still, we will look into the matter,” he said—(KNO)
